Product Ref: 111998
This 800-Watt Bass Amp Head is built around a combination of Mesa Boogie’s signature circuits, ranging from its line of tube models to its MOSFET powered models, resulting in Subway D-800 acquiring its own unique voice. Its incredibly lightweight and compact design ensures players can take it anywhere, especially with the included gig bag. Its input section features a passive/active mute switch to tailor the input headroom to suit your instrument, and a mute switch for silent tuning. The Mesa Boogie Subway also features a deep switch for further enhancement to the low end, adding an unmistakable sub low character to the mix.
The Subway D-800 is equipped with a powerful 4-band fixed rotary EQ section, offering control over the bass, low mids, high mids, and treble frequencies for the ultimate tone shaping. Adjust the bass and treble frequencies to create a whole host of enhanced soundscapes, delivering sweet musical low-end fundamentals and high-end clarity. The two overlapping mid bands provides players with pinpoint accuracy when dialling in the midrange, perfect for finding the sweet spot when sculpting the attack and body of your tone. While the low mid control can be used to add in extra bloom to fill out your sound, the high mid control helps define your tone and lets you decide where your sound will sit in the mix.
Along with its powerful 4-band EQ, the Subway Bass Amp is also fitted with a voice control to allow players to add the finishing touch to their sound. While the voice control has appeared on several of Mesa Boogie's bass amps, they opted for a continuously variable rendering that allows fine tuning of your sound. This sweep-able version lets players deliver near infinite shaping, going from a standard ''flat'' response all the way to a radically scooped midrange with boosted highs and lows. This powerful control is ideal for players wanting control over the degree of ''sauce'' their sound has, ensuring the amp delivers the perfect sound for your preferred genre.
On the Mesa Subway’s back panel is a variety of innovative ins/outs to suit your interfacing needs. Its Speakon speaker outputs feature an impedance switch to optimise the bass amp’s output for a variety of speaker configurations and wiring schemes, with the choice between 2 ohms or 4/8ohms. The addition of a headphones output allows silent practice and recording, while the AUX input lets you connect music players, sequencer, or drum machines to play along with. The direct output is perfect for sending your signal straight to recording devices, mixers, and PA’s, with mini toggle switches for source, level, and ground.
