The 4030S is designed and built around a 30.5" short scale that makes everything feel immediate and playable, from tight, percussive grooves to inticate melodic runs. The compact scale keeps stretches relaxed, while the slightly looser string tension adds a springy response under the fingers. Add the comfortable 42.9 mm nut and tidy dot markers, and you’ve got a bass that invites longer sets, faster lines and confident intonation.
Neck-through sustain
A neck-through maple and walnut core runs the full length of the instrument, coupling to solid maple wings for a lively, unified voice. Notes ring out evenly right across the board, with piano-like sustain and a tight, focused fundamental that sits beautifully in a mix. The build also adds rock-solid stability on stage and in the studio, so your setup stays dialled, your intonation stays true, and your tone remains consistent from first rehearsal to final encore.
Hot toaster tone
