Key Features
The Noise Engineering Quantus Ampla, Black is a compact, quad VCA with two unique modes per channel for flexible application. Quantus Ampla it's not just any VCA: with some unique normalizing, mixing, and CV options, and a bit of NE flair, you can use it for tons of stuff. From the top, each channel has two independent modes: Amplify, which gives you normal VCA response, and Attenuate, which makes the VCAs close instead of open in response to positive CV. With this, you can create interesting ducking, mixing or CV-controlled levelling per channel, all sent to CV-normalled outputs to use as a three-channel mixer or two, two-channel mixers.

True to the name, the Quantus Ampla features a wide range of functionality through the switches on the front of the panel. Each channel features two settings, Amplify and Attenuate wherein the 'up' switch position, the channel acts as a normal VCA and amplifies your CV signals. In the 'down' position, Quantus Ampla will then act as an attenuator, bringing the level of your CV signals down. With this combination of attenuator and amplifier between the channels, your Eurorack synthesizer can perform a wide range of functions such as feeding it a regular enveloper and duck your audio based on your envelope follower or mult a trigger to a kick drum and the envelope for quick and easy side-chaining.
While having flexibility per channel is incredibly useful, Quantus Ampla goes one step further and lets you connect everything together at once. The CV inputs are circularly normalled, allowing you to patch one CV input and control all four channels at once. By doing this, you can create some interesting effects when switching different channels to different settings such as cross-fading between the channels when one is set to Amplify and one to Attenuate. Your live sets have never been this flexible with simple CV connectivity.
Mixing from top to bottom, the Quantus Ampla's outputs read much like a traditional mixing module but with a twist. If you're using all four channels and only patch in the final output, you will get a mix of every input on the single output channel. Because of this, you could even use the Quantus Ampla as a mixer! Two, two-channel mixers or a single three-channel mixer means that you could even replace some modules from your unit, saving you space and letting you add more creative modules to your Eurorack synthesizer.
Ensuring the maximum amount of flexibility to work with your Eurorack synthesizer setup, the Quantus Ampla features DC-coupled inputs. This means that you can process both audio signals and CV signals for a wider range of functionality in your Eurorack. With one Quantus Ampla, you could control the amount of LFO modulation that goes to a filter through an envelope, or side-chain one CV signal to another to create unusual waveforms or duck two signals together, the possibilities are endless!
