The Malekko Richter Noisering is an analog data resonator module that bases its design on the original Wiard Model 1210. Retaining all its functionality and circuitry, the Malekko Richter provides a compact yet powerful noise generation module that can be used for sound experimentation and design. The digital random voltage generator features dual random voltage outputs for connecting to external modules, ideal for creating sounds and experimenting. It’s ideal for random fun, allowing you to produce patterns, random clocks, digital noise and a whole host more. The random voltage outputs can also be used as VCO waveforms when pushed to the limit.
One of the most unique features of the Malekko Noisering is the Chance input. This specialised input can replace the Shift Register’s noise input with an external signal for even more experimentation options. The random voltage outputs amplitude ranges from 0-10V, providing quantized voltages that can be toggled between 1V steps or 1/12V steps. The clock input’s audio rate can be used to trigger digital tones which you can turn into digital noise. The change control also provides added ways to control the tonal characteristics of the module. The internal clock generator is accompanied by a rate control that sets the internal clock rate. The External Rate control also randomised the internal clock, with one of the random outputs pre-patch to the ExRate jack.
Essentially working as a Shift Register, the Malekko Noisering Module keeps faithful to the original Model 1210. The faceplate is the only thing that has changed, with Malekkos signature design and fonts. The large retro-style, notched attenuators provide optimal precision when dialling in your levels. As well as this, the ergonomic layout ensures every major function is clearly annotated. Toward the bottom of the faceplate is a push button for the Ext Clock allowing you to easily toggle between on and off. The range of patch points and 14HP requirement of space makes the Noisering Module one of the most useful noise generators on the market.
