The Pittsburgh Modular Lifeforms Foundation Evo unifies west coast and east coast synthesis in one of the most comprehensive modular synth systems on the market. The Foundation Evo Modular System is comprised of some of the best Eurorack modules from Pittsburgh Modular. The modules have been hand-picked and matched to deliver the best possible performance. The modular synthesizer is comprised of complex oscillators, a keyboard performance controller, arpeggiators, multiple sequencers, analog delay, chaotic random CV and gate generators as well as multiple filtering and utility modules. At the heart of the modular synthesizer is four powerful analog oscillators, with a range of waveform and modulation options. The range of oscillators and modules allows you to combine the best from both east and west coast-style synthesis.
One of the most unique features of the Lifeforms Foundation Evo synthesizer is the pressure-sensitive performance controller. The largest module in the synthesizer is the Lifeforms KB-1 Controller. This highly unique keyboard module boasts pressure-sensitive keys, providing you with a capacitive touch keyboard ideal for live performances. The KB-1’s one octave adjustable keyboard includes an arpeggiator, step sequencer, four voltage memory pads and dual trigger pads. What sets it apart from other keyboard controllers is the selectable Duphonic and Monophonic response modes. These differing modes allow you to select note priority and retrigger options, to customise the module for your own needs. It even features a four-channel sequencer via the 4-channel voltage memory for added flexibility. Working in collaboration with the other modules, the KB-01 performance controller turns the Foundation Evo into the perfect modular synth for live sets.
The Pittsburgh Modular Lifeforms Double Helix features two wide range, precision analog oscillators with a full collection of waveforms for you to choose from. Both oscillators come equipped with fine tune attenuators and FM CV knobs for fine tuning frequency and adding frequency modulation. The first oscillators offers all the standard waveforms including saw, square, sub octave, pulse, and bladewave, and multiple modulation options. These oscillators offers exceptional sound design capabilities, allowing you to shape and filter them using the onboard utility and filtering modules.
The Foundation Evo System also features a range of filtering modules, accompanied by a 2+2 mixer and comprehensive System Interface module. The Binary Filter is ideal for changing the tone and shape of your oscillators, allowing you to filter oscillators to achieve distortion, high-end sparkle and more. The 2+2 mixer is ideal for routing and processing audio signals within your modular setup. The streamline design allows you to use the module in a range of configurations. The four-channel mixer can be split and used for different functions including: a four channel mixer, a pair of two channel mixers, four independent attenuators, two attenuators and a two channel mixer, one attenuator and a three channel mixer. The Pittsburgh Lifeforms System Interface is as flexible six channel audio hub that allows you to control several signals simultaneously, ideal for both studio and live performance applications. The System Interface offers 3 channels that feature high-quality preamps with clean gain and stereo panning.
As well as offering a versatile range of modules, the Foundation Evo also boasts a wide range of patch points and flexible connectivity. Over 120 patch points are included in total, making the Foundation Evo system one of the most flexible modular synthesizers on the market. It even features a dedicated MIDI module for providing MIDI connectivity. The patch points and in-depth modulation control allow you to achieve virtually any sound you can imagine. They are also perfect for live performances allowing you to quickly patch and route between modules to achieve a range of effects and sounds
This powerful modular synthesizer features a range of premium-grade modules, all housed within a convenient Eurorack travel case. The case is comprised of two rows of module space, with each row offering 104HP of space. The travel enclosure not only houses the modules but looks great too, thanks to the beautifully hand-stained hardwood exterior. It is also designed to protect your modules on the move, with its hardwood and aluminium construction protecting the internal components while transporting the synthesizer. It even features a handle on top of the case for added convenience, allowing you to transport your modular system with ease.
