It's pretty safe to say that no other manufacturer of Electric Guitars focuses more heavily on the needs of the heavier player than BC Rich. The weapon of choice for the indomitable Kerry King has been a BC Rich for many a year and can be seen (and heard) on Slayer's most recent outing in support of World Painted Blood album. Invisabolt Technology (IT) Construction:

In 2006 B.C. Rich proudly introduced a new and innovative guitar construction option. Like a bolt-on, the IT neck is separate from the body and then attached with bolts. However IT is a significant improvement from the traditional bolt-on construction developed decades ago. A typical bolt-on has minimal contact between the neck and body. With the IT however the neck extends into the body even beyond the rear pickup for a massive upgrade in body to neck contact. With the IT there are no exposed screws, instead this patented design provides two bolts that are under each pickup and an additional two laterally attached screws that go into the end of the neck. Only the IT provides the best of each of the various neck construction designs.

B.C. Rich BDSM Pickups

B.C. Rich designed their BDSM humbucking pickups to provide a solid sound and to be durable while delivering high output. BDSM stands for Broad Dynamic Sonically Matched. Which simply means that the pickup is designed to reproduce a wide range of frequencies accurately (broad dynamic). Then they are tested and matched in pairs (Neck and Bridge) by their inherent individual and signature tonal and output characteristics to give a solidly balanced tone (sonically matched).

Flat Top

Some of the B.C Rich shapes are offered with a flat top. The flat top styling gives a bold and pristine look to the edge of the instrument's shape. Usually when the flat top feature is used, B.C. Rich adds a stripe of single or multi-ply binding around the edge in a complementary color. The binding on a flat top finishes off the edge cleanly and gives a sleek and clean look to the instrument.
