The ESP Stream Bass is constructed from a solid white ash body, offering an enhanced low end to deliver extra layers of depth. While white ash shares many properties with its swamp ash cousin, delivering a classic rich, warm tone, it also features more treble and bright characteristics to create an incredible amount of sustain. The use of ash infuses the ESP E-II with a strong midrange and a crisp, warm bass, making it ideal for a variety of playing styles.
The ESP E-II Bass is equipped with a 3pc maple neck and ebony fingerboard, delivering warm, bright tones with plenty of depth and dynamics. The maple offers roundness to the tone, providing bright characteristics and an excellent amount of sustain. The addition of an ebony fingerboard helps to tighten up the neck’s tone, giving it a defined feel, excellent clarity, and a fast attack. The maple and ebony combination creates a sparkling, sizzling high end, a muscular controlled bass response, and a snappy midrange with extra presence in the lower mids.
Its set of EMG pickups offer an incredible range of tonal possibilities, featuring the broad tonal frequency of the 40J at the bridge and the wide sonic palette of the 40P5 at the neck. The EMG 40J is designed with ceramic magnets to offer a tight midrange punch and a dynamic high end, with its coils placed closer to the bridge to deliver a sweeping harmonic overtone. The pickup provides the E-II Stream with classic jazz bass characteristics, while its broad tonal frequency range and low ratio of resistance to inductance creates extra dimension and clarity with an increased low-end response. The EMG 40P5 pickup is designed with ceramic magnets and short, squat coils, delivering a brilliant high-end articulation with plenty of low-end punch. This pickup’s wide sonic palette of classic and modern bass sounds is ideal for the versatile bassist, offering an incredible natural presence, superior dynamics, and a low-noise operation
The addition of the Hipshot A style bridge provides the ESP Bass with an incredible intonation, allowing each string to vibrate freely while keeping them locked and secure. The bridge has been precision machined for the perfect performance, offering a fully adjustable groove-locking saddle design to ensure there is no-buzz tone transfer. Apart from its sleek modern look, the Hipshot A style bridge can accommodate either a string-through or top-load setup, while its quick load slots offering quick and easy string changes.
