This model is a modern recreation of the original Red Special guitar, which was constructed by Brian May and his father. Its solid body was both oak and mahogany taken from the now legendary fireplace by Brian and his father back in the mid-sixties. Taking inspiration from the iconic model, the Mini May is ideal for travelling musicians who may be limited to space or luggage allowance. It is also perfect for younger or smaller players.

Powerful pickup

As well as offering a natural resonant tone, the Mini May is equipped a singular tri-sonic style pickups that are modern replicas of the Burns tri-sonics that Brian installed on the original Red Special. These upgraded replicas not only deliver a faithful reproduction of the originals, but they also feature a higher impedance and produce a powerful sonic character that will cut through any mix.

Stylish appearance

This stunning guitar is finished in a metallic antique cherry finish along with an ABS cream pinstripe binding. The black pickguard matches the elegant curves of the body shape and breaks up the block colour.
