The Ibanez AN60 Artwood features a solid sitka spruce top that offers versatility with its broad dynamic range and crisp, articulate tone. In addition, its solid sitka spruce top projects a clear and powerful tone that is able to accommodate numerous genres and playing styles with equal ease. Furthermore, the versatile solid top is paired with sapele back and sides that exhibits a powerful mid-range, a punchy tonality with bright, airy trebles, providing a truly sonically pleasing tone that is both full and resonant.
Constructed from mahogany, the Artwood's neck delivers a distinct, rich mellow warmth with plenty of resonance. Mahogany's nature allows the wood to respond greatly to many different playing styles and techniques with equal ease, perfect for unleashing a player's musical individuality. In addition, the neck is topped with an acacia fingerboard that adds a deep woody sonic-characteristic to the guitar's overall sound.
With a parlour shaped body, the AN60 Artwood offers an incredibly comfortable playing experience due to its compact size and nipped in waist. The parlour's smaller size and comfortably curvaceous shape allows the player to hold the guitar close to the body with ease, perfect for long rehearsal sessions. Additionally, the AN60 also provides a comfortable playing experience throughout both seated and standing performances. This type of body shape has recently had a resurgence with modern players, due to its versatility and compact size, making it a favourite with travelling musicians. Furthermore, the parlour body gives the AN60 an incredibly balanced tonality with a powerful projection, as well as projecting sonically pleasing mid-range emphasis. Traditionally, parlour guitars were found in the hands of blues enthusiasts, and although the AN60 offers a modern approach on the parlour guitar, it is still perfectly suited to old school blues, roots music and slide techniques.
Ibanez have equipped with the AN60 with their advantage bridge pins, which are an incredible advantage over more traditional bridge pins. The pins have a tapered bottom with a stopper, meaning the ball end of the bridge pin remains in the correct position. In addition, with the Ibanez advantage bridge pins, the player is certain to benefit from how easy it is to take the pins in and out for quick and easy string changes. A unique yet special bulb-shaped end makes the bridge pins easy to grip whilst preventing the pins from being pushed in too far. Lastly, with these special bridge pins, both the pins and strings are sure to stay in the correct position.
