The Fender Custom Shop 1956 Stratocaster HSS Relic is crafted to embody the feel and spirit of a well-travelled instrument straight from the '50s. Finished in a striking Super Faded Aged Black nitro lacquer, the body wears its age with style, featuring carefully worn edges, subtle lacquer checking and hardware oxidation that reflect years of play. With this beauty you're getting an authentic broken-in feel that welcomes you from the first time you pick it up.
It may look like a vintage classic, but this Strat delivers modern sonic power through its carefully chosen HSS pickup configuration. A Shawbucker in the bridge delivers warm articulate humbucker tones with rich mids and smooth output that excel at driving amps or cutting through a mix. Complementing this are two Custom Shop Fat '50s single-coil pickups in the neck and middle positions which provide sparkling highs and classic Strat clarity. With a five-way switch and intelligent wiring this guitar offers a broad tonal palette suited to styles ranging from blues and rock to modern pop and fusion.
Built for tone and comfort the custom neck on this 1956 Stratocaster remains true to its roots with a '57 style soft V profile. This shape is ideal for chord work thumb-over fretting and smooth melodic runs. The one-piece maple construction features a medium-tint nitro finish that enhances the vintage appearance while allowing the wood to resonate freely. A 9.5 inch fingerboard radius and medium vintage frets offer a refined playing surface that feels natural and responsive for both clean passages and expressive bends.
This guitar offers more than standout looks and sound. This beauty represents the pinnacle of Fender Custom Shop craftsmanship. Every detail from the vintage-style tuners and aged white pickguard to the parchment tremolo cover and relic’d control knobs is executed with exceptional care and attention to detail. With a Custom Shop tweed case included this Strat stays safe and secure, ready to be played whenever you need it.
