Explore hundreds of sounds
With 600 tones powered by Casio's AiX sound source, the CT S400 gives you plenty of room to explore different instruments and musical styles. You can switch between sounds including piano, strings, brass, synthesisers, bass, and drums, making it easy to experiment without changing instruments. Touch response adds another level of expression, with three sensitivity settings plus an off mode. You can also layer tones, split the keyboard, shift octaves, and use the pitch bend wheel to put more of your own character into each performance.
Build fuller performances with rhythms
Want some backing while you play? The CT S400 includes 200 rhythms, including space for 10 user rhythms, plus automatic accompaniment. This gives you a quick way to add extra musical parts and practise playing alongside a fuller arrangement. There are also 160 built-in songs, with options for adjusting tempo and selecting left- or right-hand parts when practising. And with 100 arpeggiator types and 12 auto harmonise types available, you have even more ways to develop arrangements and experiment with different ideas.
Shape your sound with flexible effects
A broad selection of effects lets you adjust the CT S400 to suit different sounds and playing styles. Choose between 20 reverb types, 10 chorus types, and 10 Master EQ settings, while each tone also has a preset DSP setting. Surround sound provides another option for changing the listening experience, and Volume Sync EQ automatically balances bass and treble as you adjust the volume. Once you've found settings you like, 32 registration setups and the My Setup function make it easier to get back to your preferred configurations.
Take your music with you
At 4.5 kg and only 84 mm deep, the CT S400 is designed to be easy to move, store, and set up when space is limited. Strap pins give you another way to use the keyboard without relying on a conventional stand or desk. Six AA alkaline batteries can provide approximately four hours of operation, so you're not always tied to mains power. Despite its compact dimensions, the keyboard houses two 13 cm x 6 cm speakers with 2.5 W + 2.5 W amplification, while Horizontal Bass Reflex technology helps strengthen its low-frequency output.
Casio Music Space
This product now works with Casio's companion app, Casio Music Space. This app will allow you to access new possibilities with your Casio product whatever your playing ability. It can be used as a learning aid with a vast library of songs which you can play along with. Each note and its duration is shown visually in a piano roll making it easy to find the right notes and see how a piece of music is written. If you're more confident with reading music then you can try out the score mode - use the inbuilt scores or import your own to play along with! Page turns can be done with a pedal so you can focus entirely on your reading and playing.
A live concert simulator will simulate the reverb of a real concert space with several different settings to make you feel like you're performing in a wide variety of concert venues. You can also now access your digital piano or keyboard's settings quickly and easily with the app. No more remembering key and button combinations to alter settings - you can now change them in an easy to use and visual menu included in Casio Music Space. This app is available for free and more information can be found here.
