Akai MPC Live III Standalone Music Production System
Standalone workflow with complete creative freedom
The MPC Live III runs entirely without a computer, letting you create, record and perform anywhere. With everything built in, from sequencing to mixing and sound design, there’s no need for external gear to get started. The MPC3 OS is at the heart of the unit, offering an upgraded user interface with new tools such as clip launching, expanded effect suites, and improved project organisation.
Four touch-capacitive control knobs and a 7-inch multi-touch screen make navigation quick and tactile, keeping you focused on the music instead of menus. This self-contained setup means you can develop full tracks from scratch, perform live sets, or sketch out ideas on the move without sacrificing flexibility or depth.
Expressive pads and touch control for dynamic play
New MPCe pads on the Live III bring a deeper level of expression. They use 3D-sensing technology that goes beyond aftertouch, unlocking detailed control over sample playback and modulation using X and Y movement. These pads let you shape sounds in real-time, blending layers or triggering articulations with ease.
Alongside this, the performance touch-strip gives you quick access to pitch bending, filter sweeps, and parameter tweaks during a set. The layout encourages hands-on play and opens up creative possibilities that respond naturally to your touch.
Step sequencing and clip launching for fast arrangement
With 16 RGB-lit step sequencer buttons, the MPC Live III supports fast, electronic-style sequencing. These buttons offer instant access to note input, automation and editing, removing the need to dive into menus. It’s a smooth fit for anyone creating drum patterns, synth lines or evolving textures.
The new Clip Matrix lets you trigger and arrange loops or patterns in real time. You can mix audio and MIDI clips of varying lengths without interrupting your workflow. Combined with the touchscreen and tactile controls, it gives you a fast, responsive way to build up full song structures during a session or live performance.
Fully portable with built-in audio tools
The MPC Live III is designed to go wherever your creativity takes you. A built-in condenser microphone allows quick capture of vocals, instrument ideas, or found sounds, while stereo speakers provide clear monitoring with surprising low-end. The internal rechargeable battery lasts around four hours, making it suitable for mobile sessions or on-stage use without needing constant power.
With 2 combo XLR/TRS inputs, 6 audio outputs, and advanced CV/Gate and MIDI connectivity, it integrates with studio setups, synths, and modular rigs. USB-C support allows fast transfer of up to 24 audio channels and 32 MIDI channels, and direct sampling from iPhone or computers adds even more flexibility.
Akai MPK Mini Plus II 37-Key MIDI Keyboard
More room to play and express yourself
The upgraded 37-key mini keybed gives you a three-octave range for playing melodies, basslines, and chords without constantly changing octaves. Its compact layout is particularly useful when desk space is limited or you're producing away from your usual setup.
Dedicated pitch bend and modulation wheels provide additional expression, letting you shape notes as you perform. There's also a sustain pedal input for more natural keyboard playing. Despite its extended range, the MPK Mini Plus II remains portable, weighing just 1.46kg. You can comfortably incorporate it into a home studio or take it along when inspiration strikes elsewhere.
Find new ideas with creative performance tools
Need some inspiration for your next track? The MPK Mini Plus II includes several tools to help you explore different musical directions. Its expanded arpeggiator generates repeating note patterns, with adjustable settings for creating rhythmic variations. Chord Mode lets you trigger complete chords using individual keys, while Scales Mode keeps your playing within a selected musical scale.
You can even combine these modes to experiment with harmonies more easily. Additional functions including Glitch, Mutate, and Strum introduce rhythmic changes and expressive movement. Note Repeat is particularly handy for programming consistent drum patterns and experimenting with different rhythmic subdivisions.
Take control of your production software
Spend less time reaching for your mouse and more time making music. The MPK Mini Plus II integrates with popular DAWs including Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, Cubase, and Bitwig Studio. Eight assignable endless knobs give you physical control over software parameters, while dedicated transport buttons make recording and playback more convenient.
Its 160 x 80 colour LCD displays useful information, helping you follow adjustments as you work. The eight RGB MPC pads also support different functions depending on your software, including drum triggering, clip launching, and track control. Dedicated MPC integration provides further access to presets, navigation, and mixing functions.
Connect your gear and explore included sounds
The MPK Mini Plus II can sit at the centre of a setup combining software instruments and external hardware. USB-C handles computer connectivity and power, while a five-pin MIDI output lets you control compatible external instruments. Three CV/Gate outputs provide additional options for incorporating modular synthesisers and other compatible equipment.
You can also power the keyboard using a suitable USB power adapter or power bank, both sold separately. To get you started, the included Studio Instrument Collection offers over 1,000 sounds from AIR Music Tech, Moog Music, and Akai Professional. Native Instruments Komplete Select (Akai Edition) and MPC Beats provide further options for building tracks.
