Create Huge Sounds with Swarm Technology

The unique Swarm technology turns the two voltage-controlled oscillators into a matrix of 16 varied tones which can be morphed and manipulated. The main thing that sets the Swarm Oscillator apart from conventional VCOs is Timelinearity Modulation. This specialised parameter provides advanced pulse-width modulation. It works by cascading the two oscillators into 16 separate tones which are clashing and morphing between each other.

The two oscillators themselves can be used independently for sound design applications. The oscillators also provide independent outputs for use with external sources. The swarm clones can be affected by the detune knob, changing the pitch of the clones between slow rhythmic effects and multiple drones and chords.

This specialised bank of oscillators can be tuned to create chords, clusters and fat multi-oscillator sounds. It is designed to deliver a wide variety of digital tones with rich and gritty overtones. The bright LEDs around the main potentiometer add to the vintage-style, also great for low-light environments.

Save and Recall with Snapshots

Once you have created a fat sound, notating the parameter settings can be tedious. Radikal Technologies eliminates this process with the inclusion of snapshots. This allows you to store up to eight memory setups with eight snapshots each. It works by memorizing the oscillator settings, even after you’ve turned off your modular system.

This is ideal for both live performance and studio work. It allows you to save and recall sounds you have created at the touch of a button. You can use this to virtually create preset sounds which can be used on stage or incorporated into music production.

Blend Parameters with Interpolation

Interpolation allows you to blend between different parameter snapshots. This can make for some interesting sonic results, ideal for experimentation and sound design. You can control the interpolation with an external control voltage or via the integrated LFO.

Using the LFO, you can seamlessly blend between tones and different parameters to create new sounds. The speed of the internal LFO can also be controlled via an external control voltage for added flexibility.

Versatile Analog and CV Connectivity

The wide range of patch points makes the RT-311 perfect for use with other modules. You can also use the connections to control the Speed, Position and Data controls on the module. This allows you to interact with sounds and effects in multiple ways. The FM outputs allow you to get in-depth with your sound design, using the parameters to control external sources.
