Time-domain compression

The main function of smart:comp is that of a time-domain compressor with a few extra features added by Sonible to really go above and beyond what is commonly thought of with a compressor. You can take manual control of threshold, ratio, attack, release and knee control parameters with a full interface including metering so you have feedback of every stage of the compression processing including gain reduction, input and output reduction signals and ratio and threshold lines that allow you to make tweaks in real-time with feedback as soon as changes are made. Sonible also included a shape and detection focus section for further fine-tuning of parameters that include the ability to set the compressor to only take effect only in defined regions.

Spectral compression

Great definition and maximum transparency are gained when using spectral compression with smart:comp. While constantly analysing more than 2000 bands smart:comp smoothes out any imbalances and applies compression only where it's needed most. With full spectral metering, you are able to have full visual feedback over how the spectral compressor is working, the more intense the colour, the heavier the compression. You can limit the compression on certain frequency bands with the frequency selection line for ultimate versatility and when combined with the broadband compression you create a formidable tool that will be effective in any project.

Full compression in seconds

One of smart:comp's finest features and where it truly shines is automatic parametrisation. At the click of a button, all of your compression processing could be completed using Sonible's bespoke learning feature, smart:comp can read the input signal and bring you well-balanced compression in seconds. There is a selection of preset profiles that can be used to calibrate to a specific source to even better match up the compression settings to the instrument you want to process. Once the plugin has taken a few seconds to read and learn your audio it will automatically set all the compression parameters for you but don't worry you're still able to make tweaks so whether you're using it as a quick fix, or as a basis to start your compression processing, smart:comp will change the way you compress your tracks.
