Drawing from the same foundations as Tape, Bus Processor, and FET Compressor Mk II, it delivers the character, dynamics, and tonal shaping associated with professional studio workflows. Years of component-level modelling expertise have gone into every section, helping you achieve analogue-inspired results directly within the Console 1 environment.
Core Mixing Suite combines more than two decades of console research, analysis, and modelling into a workflow-focused channel strip. Every control has been designed to feel responsive and musical, allowing adjustments to translate naturally into audible results. Rather than switching between multiple plug-ins, you can access a comprehensive collection of processing tools from a single channel strip, keeping your attention on the mix itself. The layout is designed to support both broad tonal shaping and detailed corrective work, giving you immediate access to the tools you need throughout the mixing process.
The Tape/Preamp section brings analogue-style console and tape machine character to your DAW with three processing modes: Core Tape, Core Modern Preamp, and Core Vintage Preamp. Drive the stage harder using the Input Gain control for increased saturation, while output level matching keeps comparisons accurate. Following this, the Filter section provides transparent Butterworth high-pass and low-pass filters with selectable slopes ranging from 6dB to 48dB per octave, allowing precise frequency management without unwanted coloration.
The Shape section expands your control further with three dedicated modules. Core Shape offers gating, expansion, compression, and transient shaping, Core Dual Dynamics provides additional dynamic processing options, and Core Panner delivers mono-compatible binaural panning for enhanced spatial positioning within your mix.
Core Mixing Suite includes two complementary equaliser designs to suit different mixing approaches. The Vintage Equalizer offers smooth, musical tonal shaping for broad mix adjustments, while the Modern Equalizer provides the precision and flexibility needed for corrective work and detailed frequency control.
For dynamics, three compressor models are available: FET, Opto, and Bus. Each delivers a distinct response, making it easy to choose the right tool for vocals, instruments, buses, or full mixes. Console 1 Channel Mk III users can also take advantage of dual compressor slots for more advanced processing chains. Completing the signal path is Core Drive, a newly developed saturation processor designed to add harmonic content, increase perceived energy, and enhance midrange presence. The Character control lets you emphasise either higher or lower frequencies within the saturation stage, helping sounds occupy their own space in a busy mix.
