The Tiptop Audio Z8000 Matrix Sequencer is incredibly simple to use. However, it can also produce some incredibly complex control patterns. The Z8000 is equipped with 10 CV outputs, and each CV out has the capability to drive multiple inputs. The Z8000 is by no means simply a device for sequencing notes, it can also sequence modulation, or programme events that happen in a predetermined time. Thanks to the modular design of the Tiptop Audio Z8000 Matrix Sequencer, there are endless interesting possibilities when combining it with a variety of clock modifiers such as dividers or clock sequencers. A single Z8000 can modulate up to 10 parameters in your modular setup, making it an incredibly versatile unit for any rig.
The Z8000 utilises an array of multi-coloured LEDs to provide you with visual cues as to what is happening. Red lights are assigned to the eight 4-steps, yellow lights engage when a 4-step red light and 16-step green light intersect that specific LED, and green lights are assigned to the two 16-steps. When two 4-step red lights engage, the light intensity of that LED increases by approximately 35 . The controls and LEDs on the Z8000 still function whether the unit is clocked or not.
The Tiptop Audio Z8000 gives you an overall total of ten sequencers in a compact format. These are:
The Z8000 can simultaneously modulate up to 10 CV parameters poly-rhythmically. A single knob affects all 10 CV outs, giving you the ability to modify up to 10 parameters with a single control twist. Clock inputs can also be driven at audio rates. The Tiptop Audio Z8000 is the perfect companion to other Tiptop modules such as the Trigger Riot, Circadian Rhythms, and the Quantizer. Equipped with 30 gate and clock inputs, and all beautifully hosted in such a small and rugged format, the Z8000's possibilities are truly endless.
The Z8000 is equipped with 10 CV outputs, with each and every sequence having its own individual CV output as well as Clock, Direction, and Reset inputs. A single clock can be used to guide all four horizontal 4-steps from a single connection, thanks to the grouped 4-step sequencers each sharing a normalized Clock connection. The vertical sequences also utilise this same feature. Direction and Reset inputs however, are not normalized, and this is to keep those functions independent. Using a patch cable such as the Tiptop Audio Stackcable, you could distribute a Reset signal to multiple sequences simultaneously. Overall, the Tiptop Audio Z8000 Matrix Sequencer features an exceptionally fast response time, allowing it to be triggered by both long and short pulses.
